Illustrated color and black & white cartoons and designed 16-page activity book and 6×11″ Youth Olympics info booklets for TrueSport / US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
When you think USADA, you might think ‘strict, regulated, conservative.’ I think most days, you’d be right about that assessment. But this project was fun and different for USADA. The idea of using cartoons to appeal to young athletes was probably the right way to go. Adults have hard enough of a time digesting stuffy corporate information. Kids? Impossible. I think what worked best about this project was the ability to make it fun, yet ‘inbounds’ and paying attention to ethnic diversity – something I learned a long time ago during my time in the Air Force. This was a perfect fit for my skill set and personality and enjoyed every minute of it.
For this project, I worked with some really cool people who really cared about their work and the athletes they are trying to help. It’s a mission I can definitely support and cheer for. What to go USADA!
