Graphic design, website design, logo and corporate identity design work in the early to mid 2000s for industry-leading mountain bike suspension company, RockShox. This is where I cut my teeth into all aspects of graphic and website design. Our small, talented marketing and communications team which included Mark Norris, Kelly MacWilliams, Rene Cormier, Fritz Hoff, and Courtenay Whitelaw got it ALL done: ads, website, product decal design, trade show design, clothing, logos, packaging, and more published and printed in the USA and international. And I did so much more than is shown here. It kills me that I lost most of my ZIP disk files. Ouch.
I can’t say enough about my opportunity at RockShox. While at the time it seemed like things were quite chaotic, spur of the moment, last minute, you name it … it’s probably the single-most best experience and learning I did in my entire graphic design and website design career. There wasn’t a day working there that I was scared … every new project seemed to introduce something new that I had never dealt with before. Some call it ‘trial by fire’ … whatever you want to call it, I think I learned that ‘discomfort’ is something you should embrace and savor. Otherwise, you’re not learning. You’re not getting better.
